Oh no… I think that Chucky has canine allergies! Chucky is litterally scratching his skin off… I feel so bad for Chucky! I researched the web a little bit and he seems to have all the symptoms they describe in thisdog allergies post … Should I go to the vet??? Chucky hates going to the vet…

In Israel, scientists have created the world's smallest computer by engineering DNA to carry out mathematical functions. J. Craig Venter, the entrepreneurial scientist who mapped the human genome, announced last month that he intends to string together genes to create from scratch novel organisms that can produce alternative fuels such as hydrogen and ethanol. With a $42.6 million grant that originated at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Berkeley researchers are creating a new malaria drug by removing genetic material of the E. coli bacterium and replacing it with genes from wormwood and yeast. "We're building parts that can be assembled into devices and devices that can be turned into systems," said Jay Keasling, head of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory's Berkeley synthetic biology department, which was created last year. Keasling, who doubles as a chemical engineering professor at the University of California, Berkeley, hopes to create never-before-seen living molecules by fusing genes from the three species — a new breed of bacteria capable of spitting out malaria-fighting artemisinin, a chemical now found only in small traces in the wormwood plant. Artemisinin has been extracted from finely ground sweet wormwood for more than 2,000 years as a treatment for a variety of ailments, but the method is expensive, time consuming and limited by access to wormwood, which is found mainly in China and Vietnam. Keasling has a similar project in the works to synthetically create a compound now found in Samoan trees, one that shows promise in fighting AIDS. Such efforts are attracting more than grant money.

Wow, this is SOOO cute, the Make-A-Wish Foundation helped make this little kid's dream come true. He became the superhero "Electron Boy" for a day, and even helped out Spider Man against the forces of evil.

Expensive trip to the dentist.

My, a visit to the dentist is way too expensive… I just got back from the dentist, and for some reasons, I haven’t seemed be able to be cavities-less at least once in my life. I’m not a big milk fan, and one time I tried to eat more dairies (yogurt, but I still managed to have one cavity!

So I have to see the dentist again tomorrow, and once more on the weekend (Sunday at 9am… talk about a great way to spend a weekend).

Talking about teeth, my teeth have been killing me these days. Cold water is hurting them.I tried to look online (guess I could ask my dentist… but I’m scared he will charge me more for consultation fees LoL) and I discovered that you can get sensitive teeth from grinding them. I know that I grind my teeth a lot when sleeping. Family, room mates and my husband have all told me I then to grind quite hard. I guess I should really look into a mouth guard. I found this mouth guard for grinding teeth…fun!

Anyway, I am still looking forward to the weekend. This is my friend’s 32nd birthday and we are going to a well known seafood restaurant. I have seen their cold seafood plate for 2, and they are enormous! On the pricey side, but heh, my tax return will be pretty big this year hehe. It’s nice and sunny today, I just hope the weather will be just as nice this weekend!!

I am a thirty four year old female and have been doing P90X for 9 months. All I can say is if you are dedicated and follow the program, exercise and diet, IT WORKS!!! There is one catch, you have to DIET and EXERCISE together. One does nothing without the other. The workouts are designed for six or seven days a week, depending on the individual. Honestly I usually only work out five days a week, dieting all seven days though. I am absolutely pl;eased with the results. I am 5’4″ and weighed 112 lbs. i wasn’t fat but I was overweight for my height. I was waht you would call skinny fat. I had very little muscle tone or definition. Now I weigh 170 lbs and have plenty of muscle tone! I am not affiliated with P90X or beach body in any way, I just want those of you who are considering buying P90X to know it really does work! Just be ready for some extreme workouts. you don’t need any fancy equipment or even alot of room. All you need is a set of dumbbells and a resistance band to start. As you get into it you will accumulate more and more stuff. you’ll see! But if your not serious, save your money! Beach Body’s slogan is “Decide, Commit, Succeed”. If you can get yourself to do the three of those, you will be impressed! Tony Horton talks about recovery drink throughout all his workouts. Of course they want you to buy their brand but you can also use Endurox from GNC. It really helps. I hope this helps to clarify a little bit and maybe even motivate you to give it a try, because agin, IT REALLY DOES WORK!
